Class 1 Medical :-

In India, class 1 medicals are the final stage of pilot medicals. Candidates may apply for a class 1 medical examination only after satisfactorily clearing their class 2 medical and receiving a PMR number. DGCA class 1 medical certificate is required to obtain a Commercial Pilot License. Initial DGCA Class 1 medical examination can only be performed at medical facilities at the Air Force station or one of the two private hospitals listed on the DGCA website.

Validity of Class 1 medical:

Class 1 Medical Assessments are valid for one year for individuals under the age of 60 in Multi-crew Commercial Air Transport Operations and six months for individuals over the age of 40 in Single Crew Commercial Air Transport Operations.

CLASS 2 MEDICAL :-

FA class 2 medical is the preliminary medical examination that all aspiring pilots must have to obtain their PPL (Private Pilot's License). A class 2 medical is required before applying for a class 1 medical. Only after passing the examinations listed under the class 2 medical examination can a person apply for the class 1 medical examination. Candidates can apply for a class 2 medical by visiting the DGCA website and selecting from the list of DGCA-empanelled class 2 medical examiners. Following selection, an appointment with the examiner must be scheduled. The medical examiner will ask you about any pre-existing medical issues on the day of the medical examination.

Validity:

Class 2 has a validity period of 24 months.
